Prof. Naanyu is an Associate Professor in the School of Arts and Social Sciences, Moi University, Eldoret, Kenya. She also serve as Co-Field Director of Research, Indiana University-Kenya Program, Eldoret; Director, AMPATH Qualitative Research Core (AQRC); Chair, Africa Ethics Working Group (AEWG); and Member, National Bioethics Committee, National Commission for Science Technology and Innovations (NACOSTI), Kenya. She holds MA Sociology (Indiana University, USA), MA Medical Anthropology (University of Amsterdam, NL), and PhD in Sociology (Indiana University, USA). Her research explores individual and socio-cultural factors around illness, health and healthcare. She is particularly interested in evaluations designed to improve wellbeing and health care delivery in resource-limited settings. She is also passionate about digital health and research ethics – especially in the context of African countries. Her work often engages participatory approaches and she has extensive experience in designing and implementing qualitative projects. Prof. Naanyu also provides customized training on community engaged research, research ethics, research publication, and qualitative research.
