Research Interests

Dr. Wachira’s research interests are centered on applying mixed methods to explore and promote uptake and utilization of HIV care in resource –limited settings. This has involved understanding the interpersonal and system level factors including provider-patient dynamics and peer involvement that influence delivery of HIV care in western Kenya.
