Abstract:

This paper posits that both Jared Angira and Marjorie Macgoye have assumed the positionalities of “modern Luo” during the entire period of their writing enterprises, and that their “poetics” are strongly influenced and informed by their ideologies which are deeply rooted in both Luo and Euro-Christian cultures, but their ideological perceptions are entirely different owing specifically to their different backgrounds.
