Stanley Muse Shitote was appointed the pioneer Head of Department of Civil and Structural Engineering when it was established in 1991. He served until 1999 when he became Dean, Faculty of Technology. He was Dean until 2005. He coordinated the team that successfully applied for and attracted the MHO and VLIR Projects that provided funding of more than Kshs 2billion over 20 years period. Between 2012 and 2022, he was at Rongo University where he served as Deputy Principal and later as DVC-AFP. He is a registered Professional Engineer and a Corporate Member of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya.
