  • Chair, January-December 2001: Department of Sociology upon return from Sabbatical leave.
  • Chair, 1998-1999: Department of Sociology.
  • Served two terms as Departmental Timetable and Exam Coordinator.

  • Current Member, Departmental Welfare Committee.
  • Currently serving as a Review Panelist for Consortium for Advanced Research Training in Africa ( CARTA).
  • Current Member, Open Learning Module Evaluation Panel.
  • Participated in Curriculum Review of both Undergraduate and Post graduate programme at the school and the Department of Sociology.
  • Served as the School Rep to the University Students Welfare Disciplinary Committee for 3 Years.1988 -1992    On Study leaving undertaking PhD programme and doing Partial teaching as PhD requirement , University of New Brunswick.
  • 1st July 1987   Tutorial Fellow , Department of Sociology ,Moi University; Confirmed lecturer on 29th September, 1995.

  •  Awarded York University / CIDA Scholarship for M.A Studies at the University of Nairobi (1981)
  • Awarded Certificate in Labour and Industrial relations.
  • Won a Kenyan Government / CIDA PhD Scholarship tenable in Canada
  • Awarded yearly effective University teaching certificate , University of New Brunswick in recognition of effective teaching while undertaking my PhD programme.
  • 1999-2000 : Awarded Commonwealth Research Fellowship tenable at University of Reading , United Kingdom for one year.
