Professor Constance Nalianya Tenge is a Paediatrician and Associate Professor of Paediatrics in the Department of Child Health and Paediatrics, School of Medicine, College of Health Sciences, Moi University.
TEACHING.
She teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the department. She is involved in setting, invigilating and marking the written and clinical exams of both categories of students. Currently, she is in charge of postgraduate exams in the department.
CARE
As a paediatrician, C.N.T is involved in the care of children in public, Faith based and private health facilities in the region.
RESEARCH.
CNT is involved in the supervision of both the undergraduate and postgraduate students in their research activities. For the undergraduates the research activities are referred to as Community Based Education and Service (COBES) where they learn how to carry out research. For the postgraduates, she serves as a supervisor where she mentors the students throughout the development (proposal, IREC approval, Data collection, Data Analysis, Oral defense, publication) of the theses. She is also involved in the marking of the written and oral theses. She also reviews proposals submitted to IREC by students and other researchers for ethical approval.
As a researcher, C.N.T is involved in several research projects and has published several papers in peer reviewed journals.
COMMUNITY SERVICE.
As a professional, C.N.T has been nominated to serve in the following capacities as part of service to communities.Ministry of Health (MOH).
A member of the Technical Working Group (TWG) for the sickle cell disease MOU implementation.Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Council (KMPDC).
A member of the panel of experts for review of Disciplinary and Ethics matters forwarded from the KMPDC.St. Patrick’s Netima Secondary School.
A member of the Board of Management.Sickle Cell Federation of Kenya (SFK).
