Research Interests

Professor Constance Nalianya Tenge (C.N.T) has research interests in various topics in Child Health and Paediatrics which include Maternal and Newborn Health (MNH), Haematology and Oncology.

Research Projects.

  1. Global Network for Women and Children Health Research(GNWCHR) – 2008 to Date .

C.N.T  is a co-investigator in the Maternal and New-born Health Registry( MNHR) arm of the project.  

GNWCHR is a prospective, population-based study that determines pregnancy outcomes. It is on-gong  with several research  papers  published and other publications are expected.

  1. Epidemiology of Burkitt Lymphoma in East African Children and Minors ( EMBLEM).

C.N.T served as co- investigator and the team leader of the  Kenyan site.

EMBLEM is a case control study with research  sites in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. Data collection was done between 2010 and 2016. Data analysis is on -going with many research  papers published and other publications expected..

  1. Sickle Cell Disease Registry and Control Programme (SCDRCP).

C.N.T is the principal Investigator. The project aims at setting up a registry for the persons living with sickle cell disease (PLWSCD) and implementing the recommended WHO interventional strategies (primary , secondary and tertiary) required for the control of sickle cell disease.
