Judith Mangeni is a senior lecturer in the department of Epidemiology and Medical Statistics, School of Public Health, Moi University. She is an epidemiologist by training and teaches research methods, epidemiology of infectious diseases, infectious disease modelling, research proposal development and laboratory skills for field epidemiologists among other courses. She is also the graduate representative of her department which actually hosts the bulk of the graduate students within the school. She is a mentor/ supervisor of more than twenty students – some have already completed their studies. As a researcher, she is part of the AMPATH consortium and has been working primarily on communicable diseases especially malaria. She is one of the collaborators on the Duke /Moi University collaborative research projects currently ongoing within western Kenya. She is a member of the ASTMH, IAS among others. She has received many awards and accolades among these are several fellowships, travel awards and grants. |
