Biography


Professor Arthur Kwena is Associate Professor of Medical Biochemistry, School of Medicine, College of Health Sciences, Moi University. He holds BSc, PG certificate, MSc and PhD degrees.
He first worked as a Research Scientist before joining Moi University as a Lecturer and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Medical Biochemistry. He was Head of Department for a period of 7 years, Acting Dean School of Medicine, Moi University for a period of 7 months. He has coordinated the Community Based Education and Service (COBES) 2 for a period of ten years.
He has supervised many postgraduate students and has externally examined in several Universities. He has published many articles in National and International Journals.
He was accorded various awards among them the Dr. Charles C. Shepard Award for the CDC/KEMRI malaria Insecticide Treated bed-nets programme and the Seeding labs Instrumental award Boston, Massachusetts, USA.
He is a reviewer in several journals. He is a member of the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene as well as a founder member of the Biochemical Society of Kenya.
