Dr. Irene Chesire is a senior lecturer of psychology in the Department of Mental Health and Behavioural Sciences in the School of Medicine, Moi University (MU), Kenya; where she teaches, supervises and mentors undergraduate Medical Psychology and postgraduate Clinical Psychology students. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Kenyatta University, a Master’s in Guidance and Counselling and PhD. in Educational Psychology from MU.  Her research interests and publications are in the area of psychopathology particularly depression; counselling, sports and mental health. She is currently the thematic head of Behavioural Sciences Section and in addition she serves in various committees in the School. Dr. Chesire is an accredited counsellor and psychologist with Kenya Counselling and Psychological Association; and practices with an emphasis on psychotherapy among youths and adults. She is also a member of the Kenya Guidance, Counselling and Psychological Association.
