PROFESSIONAL WORK, My name is Dr. Felicity Wanjiru Githinji, married with three children and a grandmother to many. I joined Moi University in 2009 where I am still lecturing in the School of Education, Department of Educational Foundations in Moi University, Kenya. I am a teacher by profession and have taught in different levels of education ranging from primary school to university. Currently I am teaching several courses in Ph D classes, Masters, Post Graduate Diploma Education, Undergraduate and Diploma courses. LINKS National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) 2010 to Date International Sociological Association 2015 to Date The Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA) PROFESSIONAL EXPERTISE, I am a specialist in Sociology of Education, Academic advisor, mentor, counselor and researcher. I have Coordinated various courses and ranging from Diploma to Post graduate Programmes Ph D, Social welfare Activities in the Department. Currently I am the coordinator of in our department I have done curriculum review in all the teaching courses listed from undergraduate, Post Graduate Courses in 2021 and Development the Mentoring and Advisement Progarmme being used in School of Education and to be Adopted by the University for both Online and Face to Face. Developed also the following Ph D PROGRAMMES which have been approved by Moi University Senate and also uploaded in the Commission University Education Ph D in Sociology of Education Ph D in History of Education Ph D in Philosophy of Education The above courses have so far more that 40 Ph D students in the doctoral class of which some have already graduated. I am an internal and external examiner for both masters and Ph D here in Moi and globally.
I have undergone various professional trainings such as: 2nd Staff Development Workshop: CAPACITY BUILDING IN RESEARCH SUPERVISION AND SUPPORT (2016) MOI UNIVERSITY, ELDORET, KENYA 25th to the 27th of May, 2016 at Moi University, Kenya. The ‘East and South African- German Centre of Excellence for Educational Research Methodologies and Management’ is a joint project between the University of Oldenburg (Germany), Moi University (Kenya), Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (South Africa), Uganda Management Institute (Uganda) and the University of Dar es Salaam (Tanzania).
