Biography

Dr Emmanuel Satia is a lecturer in the Department of Literature, Linguistics, Foreign Languages & Film Studies at Moi University. A Commonwealth Scholar and first Forensic Linguist in the East African region, his main areas of interest include forensic linguistics, corpus linguistics, sociolinguistics, discourse analysis, language and gender and language and identity studies. He serves as Member of the Editorial Board of The University of Nairobi Journal of Language and Linguistics, and of the Journal of the Department of Kiswahili and other African Languages, Mwanga wa Lugha, of Moi University. He is a co-founder of the Association of English Language Educators and Researchers (ASELER) and a member of the Language Association of Eastern Africa (LAEA).
