Professor David K. Serem holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree in Administration of Higher Education from the University of Wyoming, USA. He has served as Head Department, Dean, Principal, Deputy Vice Chancellor and Ag. Vice Chancellor in various Universities in Kenya. Prof. Serem is a seasoned educational administrator and researcher with a bias in Educational Leadership and Management. As a pioneer Principal of Narok University College, Prof. Serem nurtured it until it was awarded Chatter in February 2013. Prof. Serem is also among the pioneers of Maseno University College in 1990. He is a member of several professional associations, among them the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) where he currently is a full member of Board of Fellows. Prof. Serem has served as a Board member of Kenya Airways and the National Housing Corporation (NHC). He currently serves as a Board Member of the Kenya Industrial Research and Development Institute (KIRDI). In 2000, Prof. Serem was awarded the Order of the Golden Warrior of Kenya (OGW) in recognition of his distinguished service to Maseno University College by the former President, Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi. Prof. Serem has undergone several Courses and has attended several Seminars in Management; including Corporate Governance. In addition, Prof. Serem has taught and supervised post graduate students both at masters and doctoral levels. He currently serves as a Chairman of Kipkeino High school and is also on the Board of Management of Kapsabet Boys and Kapsabet Girls Secondary schools in Nandi County. He was appointed Chairman of Mount Kenya University Council after having served as Adjunct Professor at the same university for a period of one year. He serves as a Professor on contract in the Department of Educational Management and Policy Studies, Moi University. |
