Biography

Ayuku is a Professor of Clinical Psychology of Moi University College of Health Sciences Department of Mental Health and Behavioral Sciences with over third  years of teaching, research experience and clinical work with marginalized homeless children and adolescents in Eldoret. His expertise is in child and adolescent mental health with focus on street involved youth, orphans and separated children. His research generated new descriptions of the characteristics of children living on the street and their social networks, allowing for a more comprehensive understanding of health challenges and the development of appropriate intervention methods. He has participated in the development and review of several programs for the Department of Behavioural Sciences, including developing curricula for the Master of Science in International Health Research Ethics, Master of Science in Clinical Psychology, and Bachelor of Science in Medical Psychology. In addition to integrating strong bioethics focus into academic programs, he has helped promote collaborations across academic institutions. As Co-Director of the Indiana University-Moi Academic Research Ethics Partnership Project and University Maastricht.
