Dr.  Muliwa is a Lecturer and the Examination Coordinator in the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering. His main research focus is in the reengineering of surface properties of adsorbent materials for water and wastewater treatment. Muliwa’s research has significantly contributed in surface tailoring, through safe and simple protocols, organically and inorganically surface modified sorbent materials, that effectively remove pollutants from water.  Muliwa is a published scholar in ISI indexed journals, and has participated in numerous international conferences. He is actively involved in staff exchange programs, curricula review and development in both undergraduate and graduate levels, scientific reviews, and supervision of Masters and PhD students. He has industrial experience in FMCG and is a registered Graduate Engineer with the Engineers’ Board of Kenya (EBK).
