Dr. Okinda is a dedicated academic with a PhD in Communication and Media Studies, specializing in Political Communication. He has continually contributed to the development and review of journalism and media studies curricula. Furthermore, he has conducted research and published in peer-reviewed journals, notably exploring the nexus between media exposure and women’s electoral participation under Kenya’s devolved political structure.  He is accredited by the Media Council of Kenya (MCK) as a media trainer and consultant. Dr. Okinda actively engages in professional development as demonstrated through the completion of a six-month Digital Education Master Class on online teaching in 2022.
