Dr. Anthony Muliwa serves as the Chairman of the Chemical and Process Engineering Department. His primary research emphasis is on modifying the surface characteristics of adsorbent materials for water and wastewater treatment. Muliwa's studies have greatly advanced surface modification by using safe and straightforward methods, both organically and inorganically, to alter sorbent materials that efficiently eliminate contaminants from water. Muliwa is an author in ISI indexed journals and has taken part in several international conferences. He participates actively in staff exchange initiatives, curriculum evaluation and creation for both undergraduate and graduate programs, scientific assessments, and oversight of Master’s and PhD candidates. He possesses industrial experience in FMCG and is a registered Graduate Engineer with the Engineers’ Board of Kenya (EBK).
