Dr. Shamim M. Ali is a lecturer and physician at the Department of Medicine, School of Medicine. As a lecturer at the Department of Medicine, Dr. Shamim teaches various undergraduate and postgraduate courses. She has an interest in infectious diseases and recently completed a fellowship in HIV medicine offered by the International AIDS Society. She is a consultant physician and works at the AMPATH HIV resistance clinic and North Rift HIV Technical Working Group focusing on education and support for healthcare workers in management of patients with complex HIV related disorders, suspected second line ART failure and those on third line ART. Dr Ali is also involved in several infectious diseases related projects.
