Biography

Dr. Chepkwony Sarah is a lecturer at Moi University at the School of Sciences and Aerospace studies, department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. Her research interest is in the study of phytochemicals from medicinal plants for bioactive substances and hemi-synthesis of various classes of natural products towards improving their biological activities. She is currently the phytochemical coordinator at the ACE II PTRE Centre of excellence at Moi University; she acts as the postgraduate representative of the Chemistry department; she is a member at the School’s Alumni committee and a member at the Association of France Alumni in Kenya (AFRAKEN). She has expertise in using and interpreting spectral data from various spectroscopic techniques (LC-MS, GC-MS, AAS, FT-IR and NMR).
