Miss Ayugi has worked as a Law Lecturer from 1999 to date in a number of public and private universities: Kenyatta, Nairobi, Moi,  Strathmore, Saint Lawrence University, Kenya Campus and Kenya School of Professional studies. She has also worked in the Human rights and public interest legal sector NGOs and climate change International NGOs. She is also a practicing Advocate, also worked as a Researcher at the Kenya Law Reform Commission (State Counsel), member of LSK and FIDA Kenya. Ms Ayugi has held various positions as Secretary of government taskforces, chair of Tribunal, Commissioner(KLR) member of various governmental, schools and TVET boards, member of University School management, acting Dean and  Chair of Department( Public Law) and banking sector
