Dr. Makhanu holds a bachelor’s degree in Dental Surgery from the University of Nairobi, Kenya, and a Master’s degree in Periodontics from the University of the East, Philippines. Furthermore, she has a certificate in implant dentistry from Trinon Titanium GmbH Implantology, Manila, Philippines. She has published several scientific research articles in peer-reviewed journals and made presentations both locally and internationally. She is an assistant lecturer in the department of Community Preventive Dentistry and Periodontology at Moi University School of dentistry, Kenya. Her main areas of research interest include; Periodontal surgery, regenerative periodontics, Periodontics microsurgery and dental education.
