Biography

Prof. Moses Makonjio Okello teaches and does research mainly on wildlife management and ecology, Human – wildlife interactions, resource use and ecotourism and wildlife – based tourism.  He obtained his B.Sc. degree in Wildlife Management from Moi University (Eldoret, Kenya) in 1990; M.Sc. in Wildlife Resources from the University of Idaho (Moscow, USA) in 1993; and his Ph.D. in Wildlife Management and Ecology from the University of Alberta (Edmonton, Canada) in 1996.  He has vast teaching experience, having worked at Moi University (October 1990 - July 1999; and from June 2015 to Dec 2018 to now) and also an associate of The School for Field Studies (SFS) an American Study Abroad Institution.  He has extensive research experience with a good publication record.  He has also held several administrative positions at Moi University and SFS – CWMS.  He is the current a professor in the department of Tourism and Hospitality. Prof. Okello mainly teaches statistics, research methods, wildlife – based tourism and domestic tourism, besides topics on wildlife conservation and management.
