Dr. Wesley Cheruiyot Koech is an applied mathematics lecturer attached to the department of Mathematics, Physics and Computing department  in the School of Sciences and Aerospace Studies, Moi University,Eldoret, Kenya.  Apart from teaching and research, he is also the teaching and examinations timetable coordinator, Member of Income Generating Unit (IGU) School of sciences and aerospace studies. He holds B.Ed. (Science) from Moi University, MSc in applied mathematics from Kenyatta University and PhD in applied mathematics from Moi University. His research interest is modeling and simulation of control Systems and specialized in fluid Mechanics and  methods of applied Mathematics.

Dr. Koech has participated in research work and has published several papers in international refereed journals. Additionally, he has participated in international conferences and in writing funded research proposals in his research area. He managed to attract funding from National Research Fund (NRF), partial scholarship and research fund from Moi University to undertake his PhD. He was nominated by Africa Centre of Excellence in Phytochemical, Textile and Renewable Energy (ACE II-PTRE) to participate in national staff exchange programme in the area of energy and environment which took place in April 2019 at KIRDI.
