Martin Kurgat is a career journalist – a communication field he has widely worked in for three decades he has work experience as follows:-

1991 – 1995: Information Officer II with the Presidential Press Unit (PPU).

1995 – 2002: Public Relations Officer (PRO) with the NGOs Coordination Board.

2003 – 2006: Editor, Shrend Publishers Ltd, Nairobi.

2007 – 2009 : Foreign Service Officer MFA, Nairobi

2010 – To date Assistant Lecturer Moi University Department of Publishing, Journalism and Communication Studies at the School of Information Sciences.

He is a member of the Media Council of Kenya (MCK) as a media trainer. He has enjoyed professional trainings as follows:

1996: trained and got certificate in communication work environment, Nairobi.

1997: got certified for a one week training attendance training course in Media Management at Uganda Management Institute (UMI).

2007: Awarded Certificate of Achievement – Six month intense and immense training in Diplomacy and International Relations for Foreign Service Officers at the Kenya Institute of Administration.
