Biography

Dr. Damaris Nthenya Salee is a Lecturer in the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies, School of Arts and Social Sciences. She holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Studies (Environmental Health). Her doctoral research focused on environmental pollution and occupational health risk assessment. She is currently the coordinator Directorate of Open & Distance Learning as well as Postgraduate Academic (Environmental Studies) Programmes in the department. She is engaged in teaching and mentoring of undergraduates and postgraduates in addition to supervision and examination of postgraduates’ theses.

Damaris also participates in the Moi University-Indiana University; Purdue University Indianapolis (MU-IUPUI) Network on Sustainable Development Conversations under the auspice of the Moi University UNESCO Chair on Enterprise Management and Sustainability. Damaris is a registered EIA/EA Lead Expert with National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) and a member of the Environmental Institute of Kenya (IEK).
